Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has agreed to a one-year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals, who wanted to keep him as Carson Palmer's backup.
Fitzpatrick was a restricted free agent before agreeing to the deal on Thursday. The Bengals acquired him on Sept. 1 in a trade with St. Louis, giving up a seventh-round pick. Fitzpatrick didn't throw a pass last season.
Palmer's brother, Jordan, signed a two-year deal in January, giving the team a full complement of quarterbacks.
